New Releases

First off – Happy Holidays – hope you all get to see your families for Christmas.

It’s been a busy time in the DougLampi Web-Sphere!

After a compliled effort – pushing distractions aside – four new website upgrades/releases in the past week.

I am most delighted with the updates to www.kashabowieoutposts.com website and particularily the Search Engine Friendly updates to the 2007 Fly in Fishing Photo Gallery. While laborious to put together, it is a pleasure to view – for people – AND for Google!

Based on some research with Google Trends, I embarked upon a cool experiment with the latest version of WordPress, a widget ready wordpress theme, several amazingly powerful – but always free – WordPress plugins – and some custom cascading style sheet updates… and I was able to re-create a small hobby site that I first built about a year ago with my daughter in mind. www.adoptawebkinz.com.

The next two sites are part of a series of five new sites that promote fishing in Canada. The Fishing Lodge Directory compiled in the unique information management system, The Brain, has been updated in a number of important ways – and the results have been immediate! First, I created the CSS and page template from scratch – giving me full control of the layout. Next the .html pages were converted to .php to enable two powerful text randomizer scripts and an image randomizer script. Then I included an RSS feed from the various fishing topic blogs that I manage around the Web 2.0 realm. Finally, I updated the unique Peel Away corner banner to promote the advertisers in the Fishing eBook Series of sites.

The result is about 2000 dynamic, search engine friendly pages for each site! Just in time for the Fishing Lodge Sport Show Season.

www.troutbook.com and www.canadianfishingbook.com have nearly completed their first major overhaul – with the companion sites walleyebook, smallmouthbassbook and northernpikebook slated for the same TLC over the next couple days… and all the loose threads on all five sites over the next 8 or 9 days.
