<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The most exciting aspect of <strong>Tim&#8217;s Course</strong> is the way he quantifies the elements of your <strong>marketing message</strong> that lead people to trust you enough to take action and book a trip online.  I have a plan for blogging, for social media and for SEO &#8211; but my plans were lacking this <strong>critical element</strong>!  Like cake without the icing!</p>

<p>I just had an amazing experience on Google, and I had to stop what I was doing to make this <strong>social media case study video</strong>.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">While updating a website for a client, I did a search on Google for a specific Geographic location.  I wanted to find someone to link to, when I did a search, the Google Search Results are turning up google + profiles.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It occurred to me that I&#8217;m logged in, and that is changing my search results for a town location.  WOW that is powerful for google +</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Then I scrolled down more and I found that my twitter connections were also showing up in my search results.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I&#8217;m following Kashabowie Outposts on Google + and, because they shared this link, it is turning up in my search results when I search for topics that match the information they have shared.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">From these top results, five of the top in the first page of the search results were because of social sharing and not because of search engine optimization &#8211; <strong>I found it completely startling to see how the rankings were changing in google based on your social media connections.</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It&#8217;s amazing now, what this means for tourism marketing &#8211; it influences what choices people have available to them, right at the beginning of their search.</p>
<h2>Profound Significance For Tourism Marketing</h2>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I consider this to be an incredibly positive step forward for user experience on the web. <strong>The significance of this real world example is profound.</strong> Tourism marketing and travel planning well forever be changed by the social connections you establish with your guests.</p>

<h1>Facebook Marketing Strategy</h1>
<p style="padding: 20px;">Today I`m going to do a video on a Facebook Marketing Strategy that I`m just starting to test. And I`m going to show a little bit about how I`m <a href="http://www.queticointernetmarketing.com/how-to-market-your-tourism-business-on-facebook/">adapting this strategy to work with the Tourism Marketing Niche</a>.</p>
<h2>Facebook Marketing Strategy Background</h2>
<p>First a bit of background about where I learned about this Facebook Marketing Strategy and give credit to the author and show you how you can go and get the original information as well.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I started out on Facebook one day where one of my friends made a comment about, or `Liked` <a href="http://www.facebook.com/WebsiteMarketingGuru" rel="nofollow">Website Marketing Guru</a>.  And so I followed through, I`m interesting in the topic and I read every thing I can &#8211; and he has some really great stuff here.  So I went to his website and after reading through a bit, I came back to his home page and I signed up for his email updates to see what he`s teaching.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">And over the next short while he sent me a few emails and started to introduce what he is putting together &#8211; the Facebook Business Academy.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It`s really great content.  Video one explained the difference between a personal profile and a business page on Facebook, and how important it is to work each of those differently.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Then he went on in video 2 and revealed a number of ways that you can get your account banned on Facebook and never be invited to do anything on Facebook again.  So it`s really important to know how to use Facebook properly so you can avoid those risks and losing all your hard work&#8230; I`ve got a couple of clients that I`m kind of worried about there.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">And Video three outlines a step by step process for doing a Facebook Marketing Strategy and calls it the Virtual Award Ceremony.</p>
<h3>Adapting The Facebook Marketing Strategy For Tourism</h3>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">And so I thought about this for a while and I watched the video a couple of times and I took some notes.  And then I got up this morning and started to work on one of my websites to set up a case study to test out this Facebook Marketing Strategy that he`s talking about here.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">So what I did is I spent a couple hours doing some graphic design and some custom programing here to make some banners.  I`m starting a contest where people can vote for the best Walleye Pictures.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">When they land on my page initially, if they haven`t liked already, the are taken to this page here which gives them nice clear instructions to click the LIKE button so they can start to vote for their favorite walleye pictures.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">After they click on the Like button they are taken to where they can see the Wall and the photos (thought the Wall and Photos are always available, people cannot vote on the pictures in the contest unless they Like the Page).  This starts getting people engaged where they can go into the photo galleries and select through the different Walleye pictures and click on Like under the pictures they prefer.</p>
<p><strong>Facebook Marketing Strategy Case Study</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I`m just getting this promotion set up now, and I wanted to take a look at some of the Insights or the statistics of the number of people who Like this page &#8211; just as we are starting this Facebook Marketing Strategy promotion.</p>
<h3>Measure Success With Facebook Business Page Insights</h3>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">So here`s how many people have interacted with the Walleyebook.com Fan Page since last February &#8211; lets scroll this down a bit and you can see the number of people who have liked this page since last February &#8211; you can see that it`s been pretty flat and I`m expecting that his promotion is going to really pick things up.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">This is the Facebook marketing strategy that we are testing out and this report is the beginning of the Case Study as we adapt the Facebook Marketing Strategy to the fishing trip niche for Tourism Marketing. There will be five different Facebook Fan Pages that I try this same marketing strategy with in our Case Study.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We`ll be coordinating the promotions of these fan page award contests with email notifications to help generate some interest and excitement in the promotion.</p>

<p style="padding-top: 30px;">How I used Market Samurai from Challenge 2010 to select a domain, and the first things I did to prepare to gather an audience.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Starting with a self-hosted WordPress website, I created a few posts, then I created an account at <a href="http://www.twitter.com" target="_blank">Twitter</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com" target="_blank">Youtube</a> &#8211; with a username as close to my domain name as possible.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I registered a profile with <a href="http://www.slideshare.net" target="_blank">Slideshare</a> and registered my blog with <a href="http://www.blogcatalog.com" target="_blank">Blogcatalog</a> &#8211; where my site will be reviewed by a human before being listed.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Then I registered my site with <a href="http://feedburner.google.com" target="_blank">Feedburner</a>.  Many people use iGoogle, and using feedburner makes it easy to get your information out to a lot of places more easily.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The next piece of marketing material I put together was a Fan Page on Facebook.  Following that, I imported the RSS Feed from my WordPress blog into the Notes section of my Business Page on <a href="http://www.facebook.com" target="_blank">Facebook</a>.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The last thing I did was to create an account on <a href="http://www.friendfeed.com" target="_blank">Friendfeed</a>, and pulled together the RSS feeds from all of the different Social Media accounts I had just created.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Now, when ever I do a post, an entire network of social media services are updated.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">One thing I like to be sure to do, is include a link back to my own website within the first 150 words of the post.  This way all of the services that syndicate my content will automatically provide links back to me &#8211; with my ideal keywords&#8230; which I had found using Market Samurai.</p>

<p>Mostly, it&#8217;s because I&#8217;m just too darn busy!</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Seriously though, I haven&#8217;t taken on a new client since June of 09; and have been referring leads and customers to my trusted colleagues.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><a href="http://www.queticointernetmarketing.com">Marketing for Tourism Businesses</a>, specifically, Hunting and Fishing Lodges in Canada, have been my core clientele since I started my business in 2001. As a web design architect, I&#8217;m constantly finding and testing new marketing strategies and technologies with the aim of bringing them back and increasing the effectiveness of Tourism Internet Marketing.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">In my research, I&#8217;ve created dozens of websites in niches that are unrelated to Tourism. Over the years, have become more and more successful at creating websites that are online businesses. Virtual businesses that starts and establishes a relationship with new people, builds an audience and converts visitors into happy, paying customers &#8211; with minimal maintenance.</p>
<p>As a result, I have stopped marketing my web design services and reduced my client load.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Over the past two years, my business has specialized, and became exclusively <a href="http://www.queticointernetmarketing.com/blog-coaching/">focused on coaching business owners and entrepreneurs</a> who run and update their own website or blog.  I have a deeper relationship with fewer clients &#8211; and it&#8217;s been very good for all of us.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I&#8217;m very grateful to work with the people I do.</p>
<p><strong>Giving Something Back</strong></p>
