WordPress 2.7 is out!

by Doug on December 11, 2008

The long-awaited WordPress 2.7 has finally passed it’s first two phases of beta testing!

WordPress ‘Coltrane’
The first thing you’ll notice about 2.7 is its new interface. From the top down, we’ve listened to your feedback and thought deeply about the design and the result is a WordPress that’s just plain faster. Nearly every task you do on your blog will take fewer clicks and be faster in 2.7 than it did in a previous version.

Built-in Upgrades!

This could be the last time you ever have to manually upgrade WordPress again! 2.7 now includes the ability to upgrade to future versions by clicking a few links in the admin area.

The Last Upgrade Day

I’ve seen all the hype about 2.7, but resisted becoming one of the 10′s of thousands of developers who tested the beta versions. Now that the first stable version is released – almost a month overdue, so they could incorporate all the changes and tweaks suggested by the beta testers – I’m excited like a kid at Christmas! I can’t wait to unwrap and test it!

First Deployments of WordPress 2.7

The first projects to benefit from 2.7 are new upgrades to four new tourism business website upgrade projects.

  • Whitefish Bay Camp, Lake of the Woods;
  • Ogoki Frontier, Armstrong;
  • Sleepy Dog Cabins, Perrault Falls;

ok… enough talking! Work to do!!
